The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) released an update on its work with American National Standards Institute to engage U.S. stakeholders in a global effort to develop a worldwide standard intended to provide what ASSE describes as "effective, real-world solutions for worker safety." The International Organization for Standardization is working on the proposed ISO 45001 standard. "The U.S. needs to have a strong, active and engaged role in this activity," ASSE states.
