Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) intends to introduce next week a one month continuing resolution to fund the government at fiscal 2010 levels through the end of March, while the GOP-led House passed a long-term spending bill that would cut OSHA's budget by 18 percent through September. In an effort to ward off a government shutdown when the current government spending bill expires March 4, Reid is set to introduce his measure to provide Congress with additional time to pass a long-term government funding bill.
