OSHA has unveiled a “major restructuring” of its Office of the Whistleblower Protection Program (WPP), with the office now reporting directly to the agency’s Office of the Assistant Secretary instead of to its Directorate of Enforcement Programs, and is also weighing field office changes. The moves follow months of internal Labor Department deliberation over how to beef up WPP in the wake of strong criticism of OSHA's handling of the program, and come as the agency proposes to pump additional resources into the effort (see related story).
