Labor OIG Auditing OSHA's State Plan Evaluations, Report Likely Next Month

The Labor Department's Office of Inspector General (OIG) is in the midst of completing an audit of federal OSHA's evaluations of state plans, an OIG spokesman confirmed to Inside OSHA Online. The study is planned for completion by the end of this month with a report due out by April. The objective of the audit is “to determine if OSHA ensured that state plans operate OSH programs that are at least as effective as federal OSHA,” OIG spokesman Jeff Lagda said. “We're hoping to have the report completed by the end of the month.” Lagda said the completion date is not definitive but OIG is trying t
