Rafael Moure-Eraso, chairman of the U.S. Chemical Safety Board, lauded "satisfactory progress" on recommendations aimed at improving training requirements for propane technicians, and at improving emergency response actions by on-scene technicians and 911 operators. The recommendations have largely been adopted and will result in lives saved, he said. CSB made the recommendations its final report in September 2008 on a deadly West Virginia propane explosion.
