ASSE President Calls For 'New Paradigm' In Protecting Workers

Citing a "statistical plateau" in worker fatalities in 2010 versus 2009, Terrie Norris, president of the American Society of Safety Engineers, issued a statement as the organization marks the beginning of its next 100 years, saying the country needs a "new paradigm" to protect workers and warning that businesses cutting safety programs in a downturn is not advised.
