Rafael Moure-Eraso, chairman of the Chemical Safety Board (CSB), released a statement following a fatal fire in eastern Ohio. According to company officials, a flash fire occurred when workers were splitting a large solid waste drum of hazardous flammable inorganic material into smaller storage drums. Moure-Eraso noted recommendations CSB has made to the Environmental Technology Council following investigations of other events.
