OSHA chief David Michaels urged participants in Voluntary Protection Programs, which he called "role models" for other companies in safety and health during a recent speech at a conference of the member companies, to stand behind the agency's recommended practices developed with NIOSH to tackle workplace hazards faced by temporary workers (see related story).
