Public health agencies including NIOSH are voicing concern about the health impacts of environmental tobacco smoke in the workplace. A Massachusetts epidemiologist writes in a NIOSH science blog that recent surveillance findings in that state suggest that comprehensive state laws mandating smoke-free workplaces "had a measurable positive impact" on efforts to reduce exposures.
