Safety, Health Needs In Western States Studied By NIOSH

NIOSH is scrutinizing occupational safety and health issues of particular importance in western states. Agency chief John Howard wrote in an online newsletter, following a Denver meeting of the Western States Occupational Network, that the agency is assessing progress in the region. Along with traditional OSH issues, the agency is focusing on wildland firefighting, the oil and gas extraction industry, and support for state occupational safety and health partners.
