Safety Group Renews Press For Florida Public Sector OSHA Plan

A major occupational safety group commended calls from a federal agency for Florida leaders to establish a state OSHA plan that covers public sector employees, following years of lobbying by the group to gain coverage for the state's government employees across the state, county and municipal levels. The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) on Wednesday praised the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) for issuing a statement that urged Florida officials to reconsider their legislative inaction on a CSB recommendation for the state to cover public sector workers.
