NIOSH published a poster for employers briefly explaining "Buy Quiet," which encourages companies to purchase or rent quieter machinery as older machinery is replaced in order to reduce worker exposure to noise. The program helps employers comply with OSHA requirements, reduces the noise impact on the community, and encourages manufacturers to design quieter equipment. "Most importantly, it reduces your risk of hearing loss," NIOSH says.
