Workers who plant, cultivate and harvest tobacco are particularly at risk for nicotine poisoning, also known as “green tobacco sickness,” OSHA and NIOSH say in a new joint bulletin. Dehydration, dizziness, headaches and vomiting are some of the symptoms of such poisoning, which is described in the recommended practices bulletin with guidance on reducing the hazards for tobacco workers.
