NIOSH compiled a midyear report covering January to June 2014 from the NIOSH Fatalities in Oil and Gas Extraction database, a new internal system that collects detailed information about land-based and offshore oil and gas extraction fatalities in the United States. The report contains descriptions of fatal workplace incidents in the sector.
