NIOSH released a study showing high obesity rates among long-haul truck drivers. The research shows those drivers were twice as likely to be obese compared to the adult working population, as well as more likely to smoke and suffer from other risk factors for chronic disease. NIOSH chief John Howard says the survey helps NIOSH work collaboratively with the industry on trucker concerns.
