NIOSH issued a Current Intelligence Bulletin to present a methodology, based on the modern principles of risk assessment and toxicology, for the derivation of Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health values, which characterize the health risks of occupational exposures to high concentrations of airborne contaminants. The methodology incorporates the approach established by the National Advisory Committee on Acute Exposure Guideline Levels for Hazardous Substances.
