A group of House lawmakers led by Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) has written to OSHA chief David Michaels requesting he initiate a National Emphasis Program focused on hazards in the poultry processing and meatpacking industries. The push comes as OSHA begins an enforcement program in eight states where poultry companies are concentrated that focuses on ergonomics.
