The House Energy & Commerce Committee bill to replace the Medicare physician pay system would cost $176 billion over 10 years, according to a soon-to-be published score by the Congressional Budget Office. That estimate is higher than the $138 billion that CBO projects it would cost to freeze physician pay for a decade.
