NIOSH chief John Howard, administrator of the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program, has determined that the available evidence does not have the potential to provide a basis for a decision on whether to add cardiovascular disease to the list of WTC-related health conditions. The move follows a March petition to add “heart attack,” interpreted to mean “cardiovascular disease,” to the list.
