OSHA said Thursday it recognized the management and employees of Pfizer Global Manufacturing in Lincoln, NE, for achievement in the company's employee safety and health program. Pfizer was recognized as a "star" site, the highest level of recognition that OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs offers. The move is a second signal over the past week that the agency is moving forward to enlist new VPP sites. Criticism of the program by Congress' investigative arm recently led OSHA to revisit its support for the voluntary compliance initiative.
