NIOSH chief John Howard touted the inclusion for the second time of an occupational health supplement to the National Health Interview Survey as a "great value" in providing data to NIOSH and others. The 2010 supplement consisted of a series of occupationally related questions developed in conjunction with stakeholders. Collecting the data will help close gaps among ongoing occupational health surveillance systems, he says.
