OSHA, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives recently issued an advisory about accidents involving ammonium nitrate (AN), on the hazards of AN, how to manage the hazards, and appropriate steps for community emergency planning and proper emergency response. The advisory follows a presidential executive order requiring agencies to collaborate on chemical safety after the West, TX, disaster.
